White Label App

Prev Next

Paynetics' White Label Digital Wallet lets you launch a branded, fully-featured mobile payment wallet for your customers without building the underlying payment infrastructure. From card issuance and KYC to analytics and push notifications, the wallet runs on the Paynetics platform under our EMI licence (Paynetics AD in the EEA, Paynetics UK in the UK), while the app itself looks and feels entirely like yours.

This article is the high-level introduction. For a side-by-side comparison of wallet types, see Wallet Types — Issuing vs Invite-Only. For the complete feature reference (including KYC details, analytics tooling and GDPR consent options), see Digital Wallet Features.

What is the Digital Wallet Solution?

The Digital Wallet is a configurable, white-label mobile application that you deploy under your own brand. Your customers download your branded app, onboard themselves (or are onboarded by you), and can immediately access payment services.

Typical use cases include:

  • Loyalty and rewards wallets — a branded app where customers link a card and spend rewards

  • Consumer fintech apps — a full digital bank experience with IBAN, cards and transfers

  • Employee benefit wallets — company-issued wallets where employees receive and spend funds

  • Closed-loop payment apps — a wallet for a specific merchant ecosystem

Wallet Types

The solution offers two distinct wallet types. The right choice depends on how your users will be acquired and how cards will be issued.

Issuing Wallet (Open for Registration)

  • Freely downloadable from app stores in your target countries

  • Any user can register with their mobile number

  • After registration, the user discovers features but cannot use payment functions until they pass KYC

  • Upon KYC completion, the user can deposit, spend, send/receive IBAN transfers and manage their account fully

  • Users can self-issue virtual and physical cards

  • Supports up to two pricing plans with promotional mechanics

Best for: consumer-facing fintech apps, digital bank alternatives.

Invite-Only Wallet (Linking Wallet)

  • Users are pre-created in the Paynetics platform by you (via API or batch file upload)

  • A card is pre-assigned to each user, typically a card you have already issued under your own BIN Sponsorship programme — the partner-owned card model that pairs naturally with this wallet type

  • Users receive an invite (email or channel of your choice) with secure codes to link their card

  • After downloading the app and using the codes, the user can spend instantly

  • Only one card per user account is supported

  • Limited to a single pricing plan

Best for: corporate wallets, employee benefit programmes, closed-loop ecosystems where you control who participates, and partners running their own card programmes under BIN Sponsorship who want an engagement layer.

See Wallet Types — Issuing vs Invite-Only for the full side-by-side feature comparison.

Key Features

Payment Features (Both Wallet Types)

  • Receive wire transfers — Users get a unique IBAN upon registration, enabling SEPA inbound transfers (EUR), BISERA (BGN) and GBP Faster Payments. For Invite-Only wallets, IBAN assignment is configurable per programme and is not available for commercial-card accounts.

  • Virtual cards — Instantly issuable after KYC; can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay (subject to certification).

  • Physical cards — Ordered in-app; delivered to the user; in-app PIN management.

  • Partner-initiated top-up — You can load funds to users' cards via API or batch file from your company's funding account.

  • Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) — PIN or biometric authentication for every payment; app login requires OTP. The wallet is SCA-audited and penetration-tested.

  • Account Recovery — PIN reset, phone-number change and lost-device recovery, with tiered identity proofing based on whether the user has a linked card. See the Features article for the full model.

Issuing Wallet Additional Features

  • User-initiated top-up by card — Users top up from their own payment cards.

  • Top-up with credit — Credit top-up options where partner agreement supports it.

  • Top-up via Cashterminal — Cash top-up via partner terminal network (Bulgaria).

  • P2P transfers — Send/receive money to other users within the Paynetics wallet network, including cross-wallet transfers between partner brands powered by Paynetics.

  • Outbound wire transfers — SEPA (EUR) and BISERA (BGN) outbound transfers. UK GBP outbound transfers run through Confirmation of Payee.

  • QR & payment-link payments — Closed-loop payment via QR or shared payment link.

  • Referral programme & promo codes — Configurable referral mechanics; promo codes restricted to users who have not yet loaded funds.

  • Utility bills and vignettes — In-app payment for utility bills and digital motorway vignettes (Bulgaria).

Loyalty & Growth Features (Both Types)

  • Loyalty card digitisation — Users can add their physical loyalty cards (barcodes) to the wallet.

  • Pricing plans with promotions — Issuing supports up to two plans; Invite-Only supports one. The "paid-for-free" mechanic allows you to upgrade specific users to a premium plan at no cost via an API call when they meet your criteria.

KYC, Analytics, GDPR — Brief Pointers

The wallet supports several KYC models tailored to wallet type and programme configuration — Partner-Managed KYC (Invite-Only), KYC Standard (Invite-Only business cards) and KYC Full (both types). All options are compliant with EU AML and PSD2 requirements. Full breakdown, including document requirements by country and the KYC status model, lives in the Digital Wallet Features article.

Three integrated platforms — Mixpanel (event tracking), PowerBI (reporting) and MoEngage (push notifications and email triggers) — give you visibility into wallet performance and the tools to engage users. All three are opt-in and provisioned during onboarding. Full description in Digital Wallet Features.

If your use case requires explicit marketing consents from users, the wallet supports configurable consent screens shown at login. None of the marketing consents can be mandatory for app usage. Configuration details are in the Features article.

Cards Summary

Both virtual and physical Mastercard and Visa cards are supported:

  • Virtual cards — Instant; can be frozen, destroyed and reissued; expiry renewal supported.

  • Physical cards — Ordered in-app; PIN set during ordering; delivery fee configurable; expiry reissue supported.

  • Apple Pay & Google Pay — In-app push provisioning supported; requires certification (Paynetics manages the certification process).

  • Commercial cards — Available for Invite-Only wallets (business-card programmes).

For the full card lifecycle (issue, freeze, destroy, reissue, PIN handling, reissuing on expiry) see the Digital Wallet Features article.

Pricing Plans Summary

Pricing plans are the fee configurations users experience in the wallet, configurable to your commercial model.

  • Issuing Wallet — up to two plans with the full set of configurable fee types (monthly, top-up by card, FX, ATM, outbound transfer, physical card printing/delivery, card monthly, inactivity, OCT, utility/Cashterminal/cash-out fees).

  • Invite-Only Wallet — a single plan with a similar (slightly reduced) fee set.

The "paid-for-free" mechanic lets you upgrade specific users to a premium plan at no cost to them, triggered via API when they meet criteria in your external system.

Fee tables for each plan type live in the Digital Wallet Features article.
